What we do<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We support a community of people living in the Hai district of Tanzania, East Africa, employing local staff to run the Activity Center, supporting and empowering people with learning disabilities, through person-centred planning, to feel fulfilled and become safely integrated into the communities they live. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We aim to encourage social inclusion, respect and acceptance through raising the awareness and understanding of inclusion in the community. The activities may include: music, art & crafts, numeracy & literacy, vocational skills and social outings with the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donating<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Every penny of your donations goes directly to the Activity Centre in Tanzania to fund staff wages, resources such as art materials and food, service user\u2019s medication, trips into the community, transport to the centre and much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteering<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are coordinated in the UK by a group of volunteers who raise money and support the important work happening in Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the future, we are hoping to develop volunteer opportunities for people to travel directly to the project in Tanzania and support the work there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We ensure the Activity Centre is an inclusive place where everyone feels welcome and safe to discover and express their true self. We see potential in everyone, believing everyone has skills and talents just waiting to be realised. We are committed to supporting the inclusion of disabled people in the community by raising awareness of disabilities and highlighting the experience and skills disabled people have which strengthen our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sponsor wanted the team to choose a charity to support and the team kindly chose Nations Together.
